SPACE IS STILL AVAILABLE IN NORTHSHORE SCHOOL DISTRICT’S PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR THE 2025–26 SCHOOL YEAR! Northshore preschool programs are currently enrolling children ages 3–5. The preschool years are among the most important for shaping early learning and development. Northshore School District is committed to supporting our youngest learners by helping them build school‑readiness skills, cultivate friendships, and experience a strong sense of community and belonging. The district proudly offers a variety of inclusive general education learning environments. Our preschool programs include both FREE and tuition-based options. FREE Programs: Head Start and Ready Start Eligibility is based on a child’s age, family income, and opportunity gaps.
Spaces are filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis for eligible families, and families are encouraged to apply as early as possible. All information provided is confidential and used only to determine eligibility. The district does not require, check, or report immigration or DSHS status. View the applications for income‑eligible free preschool. Tuition-Based Program The tuition based Ready Start classroom is located at Sorenson Early Childhood Center. Spaces are also filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and families are encouraged to complete an application as soon as possible. RaiseCraze We are so excited to be bringing back our Raise Craze kindness fundraiser! Raise Craze is a unique way for us to raise money for our school while making an impact in our community through kindness. During this fundraiser, students ask friends and family for donations via the online Raise Craze platform while paying it forward serving others.
Raise Craze is a wonderful way to reinforce one of the pillars of the Fernwood community - kindness - while raising much needed funds for PTSA programs. Students will spend time serving, not selling! And the best part is everyone can participate! Even if students are unable to raise money, they can still perform and log acts of kindness! We would love to reach 100% participation!
As a little encouragement, teachers will recognize “Kindness On the Spot” when they see students being kind so please talk to your student about ways they might show kindness at school.
This year we will be playing kindness Bingo! Students can earn prizes by completing Act of Kindness and raising money for Fernwood PTSA. Please reference the incentive handout and student handout for additional information.

Raise Craze will send all emails, reminders and thank you notes. Emails will never be shared with third parties or used for marketing. Science Fair Update: there are only 12-17 spots remaining for the Science Fair. Please sign up today! We are thrilled to announce the upcoming PTSA Science Fair on April 17th at 5:30pm- 7:30pm. Student registration forms are due by April 10th. Please submit your form as soon as possible, as enrollment will be limited based on available space and accommodations.
