Change in Car Drop off/Pick Up
We have now entered Phase 2 of our construction project which means the new North Parking Lot will be turned over for our use starting January 6th.
Please see below for key important points starting January 6th:

Parent vehicle drop off and pick up will shift to the new North Parking Lot and new car entry further North on 39th Ave

Please do NOT block the parking lane along 39th

The current car entry along 39th will be PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Walkers will be entering and exiting through the current walker gate.

Driveway entry to the new North Parking Lot will be created on 12/10 to 12/13. The sidewalk in front of the entry will be closed to pedestrians during that time.

Bus LoopThe current temporary bus loop remains unchanged.

Visitors to the Campus Entry onto campus will be through the new door on the north side of the cafeteria starting 1/6. You will then need to proceed around the building, following signs on campus, to check in at the main office.

There will be a security camera in place with a buzzer on the door connected to the front office.

The door will be unlocked for early programs and students between 8:00 and 9:30. It will then remain locked for the school day until dismissal.

When visiting Fernwood, please park along 39th ONLY during non pick up/drop off times.

Early Dismissal Conference Make Up Days
As the district shared, there have been designated make up days for the early dismissal parent conference days we lost during the November wind storm. For Fernwood, our only early dismissal day will be December 12th. We will dismiss at 12:30 PM. The YMCA will be onsite providing before and after school care for students enrolled in their program. Teachers will be reaching out to parents to reschedule any remaining parent teacher conferences that were canceled on Thursday, November 22nd. Thank you for your understanding as we work to complete these important conversations with families regarding the learning and growth of students.
Student Council Crazy Hat/Hair Day
On Friday, December 13th - All students are encouraged to join in the Student Council Crazy Hat or Hair day! Wear a crazy hat or create a crazy hairdo!

Family Engagement and Resource Center

Preparation for Inclement Weather
If weather conditions are severe enough, there are times when our school schedule can be impacted. You can visit the "Closures and Delays" on the Northshore School District's website to learn more about how decisions are made related to this topic as well as how you can be informed if adjustments to the school schedule occur.

PTSA Annual Holiday Gift Card Drive
The annual Fernwood Holiday Gift Card Drive is happening Monday, November 25th through Friday, December 13th.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
1. Purchase a $25 gift card or eCard from local stores such as Fred Meyer or Target
2. Drop off $25 Physical Gift Cards, or have your students drop them off, with a PTSA representative, in front of the office between 9-9:30 a.m. OR you can donate cash. The PTSA will purchase gift cards on your behalf with the cash donation.
The gift card drive is a tradition at Fernwood. At the end of the drive, the gift cards will be distributed to Fernwood families in need. Let's do our part and come together as a community to share the joy and spread the love during the holidays!”
